In July 1982, Tony, along with Loren Saxton, C.P.O,
and Kel Bergmann,
C.P.O., founded SCOPe Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. and he serves
as the vice president of the corporation.
Tony attended both New York University and Northwestern University for
his prosthetics training. In 1974, he received his certification in prosthetics
(C.P.) from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics,
Inc. (ABC)
Tony's interest and involvement in the field of prosthetics was influenced
by his father. A WWII veteran who lost his leg in the war, Tony's father
entered the emerging field of prosthetics in the 1940's. He joined an orthotic
and prosthetic facility in Cleveland, Ohio who pioneered new techniques
and concepts in prosthetics. At an early age, Tony worked alongside his
father and other experts. By age 18, he was designing and building artificial
limbs by combining the best techniques and philosophies from his many teachers.
An innovative leader in prosthetics with over 32 years experience, Tony
remembers working on one of the first myoelectric arms in the late 60's.
Today, he has a national reputation for his specialized skills in designing
myoelectric upper extremity prostheses and is widely recognized for his
expertise in lower limb prosthetics.
