Jesus, also known as Chuy is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist. He has been around Orthotics and Prosthetics most of his life as both his father and older brother work in the field. He began his career by working as a technician for 10 years. In 1991 he joined SCOPe; he managed the SCOPe fabrication lab in Tijuana for 4 years. In January of 1999 he graduated from the Orthotic and Prosthetic program at Cal State Dominguez Hills. In 2001 Chuy received his Orthotic certification and in 2002 received his Prosthetic certification from the American Board for Certification (ABC).
In 2002 Chuy moved from the Kearny Mesa office to the SCOPe Children’s Hospital office and is the manager there. He specializes in scoliosis bracing, spina bifida and pediatrics. He was invited by physicians at Rady Children’s Hospital to participate in a nationwide multidisciplinary scoliosis study. He believes you must look at each person as an individual, recognize his or her potential and not be limited by their diagnosis. In doing this he has had a positive impact on many people’s lives. Chuy has completed many additional courses including; CAT/CAM and WalkAide.
In his free time Chuy enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, riding horses and growing vegetables. He also volunteers his time at a Children’s Hospital in Tijuana, Hospital de las California’s.
