Chuy is second generation orthotics and prosthetics
practitioner. Both his father and brother practice in orthotics and
Chuy has grown up in the industry.
Chuy began his career by spending
ten years as a technician starting in 1989. He came to work for
SCOPe in 1991 while attending Southwest
College. From 1994 to 1998, he managed the SCOPe fabrication lab
in Tijuana.
In January 1998, Chuy started his education in
orthotics and prosthetics at California State University at Dominguez
Hills
from which he
graduated of 1999 with honors.
At that time, he came to work at
SCOPe Kearny Mesa as a practitioner. He became ABC certified in
orthotics in 2001 and moved to the
Children’s
Hospital office. One year later he received his certification
in prosthetics and became the manager of the Children's Hospital
Office where he now
dedicates his time.
