Ara is a Certified Orthotist. He became interested in Orthotics and Prosthetics when he tore a ligament in his knee and has been working in the field since 1992. He graduated from SDSU in 1992 with a Bachelors degree in Food and Nutritional Science. In 1994 he went to Cal State Dominguez Hills for his Orthotics training. Ara received his certification in Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) in 1996.
In 2001 Ara joined the SCOPe La Jolla office. He came to SCOPe with many years of experience including running his own office in Vista for three years. His specialty areas include; pediatrics, spinal, lower and upper extremity orthotics. He has also completed courses in; Stance Control KAFO’s, WalkAide, Cascade DAFO, SaeboReach, Providence and Boston scoliosis braces.
Ara was born in Hollywood and has lived his whole life in Southern California. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, surfing, snowboarding and fishing.
