High school summer work doesn’t often turn into a lifetime career, but it did for Garry Yamamoto, C.P.O. After working summers for a friend in the orthotics and prosthetics profession, he was hooked.
Garry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education in 1981 from Cal State University – Dominguez Hills, then attended the Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center certification program for Orthotics. He was certified in Orthotics in 1985 by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc (ABC). Ten years later, Garry completed the Northwestern University certification program, becoming an ABC Certified Prosthetist in 1998.
Garry joined SCOPe in July 1998. He brings more than 20 years of professional experience to his work with patients, particularly senior citizens or geriatrics, children and those with scoliosis. He also serves as managing partner of the SCOPe’s Laguna Woods office.
Born and raised in Southern California, Garry enjoys fishing, karate, skiing, and spending time with his family.
