When you make your decision to wear a breast
prosthesis, the following factors should be considered: shape,
weight, color, texture, feel
and your activity level. The breast prosthesis of today has been
greatly improved. Due to advances in materials, the new prosthesis
is designed to reproduce the weight, texture and movement of a
natural breast. Another great improvement is the Discrene prosthesis,
which
adheres directly to the skin giving a more natural feel and appearance.
SCOPe
accommodates your individual needs by carrying a wide variety of
preferred brands such as Discrene, Active, Camp, Comfort, and
Amoena. Other brands are also available.
SCOPe
carries beautifully designed bras. These special bras have set-in
pockets to securely hold your prosthesis in place.
Once you have
decided on your prosthesis, proper care is essential for long-lasting
results. Delicate daily washing and careful
drying is a must. Also remember to store the form in its
original container
at night to help prolong its shape.
Insurance Coverage
Most insurance companies have some type of coverage for mastectomy
products but coverage may vary. It’s important to
check with your insurance company prior to your appointment
with SCOPe. A SCOPe
